Report On Fota Wildlife Park:
On March 7th our year left the school at 7:15am to start our journey to Cork. We were going here as part of our biology course if we do decide to do biology for the leaving cert.
We got to Fota and met with three different tour guides at the entrance. We went into this room and they introduced themselves, we split into two different groups, played two games and then for the third game, tangent we played as a year group.
We then went outside and were going to get a guided tour around the Park to see all of the animals they keep here. We split into our two class groups and got two different guides.
We got lunch from 12:20pm to 12:50pm so we went to the cafe. After this it started raining lightly for awhile but over all the weather was good and there was sun most of the time. We then went back on our tour in our separate class groups until 2:40pm and then all met up as a year group again, went into the gift shop for about 15 minutes and then went into a room to sit down and look at all these stuffed animals whilst one of the female guides talked about their species etc.
We left Fota at 3pm after a fulfilled enjoyed day.
Some of the animals I found interesting were the rhino's and their skin, the cheetahs which can run up to 70mp/h fastest animal, the monkeys that had really loud territorial calls and the otters that were adorable.
After we left Fota we headed for Mahon Point for a 2 hour shopping spree and also to get something to eat. We left here at 5:30pm and headed for home. Everyone had a really enjoyable day and got home for 8:30pm.
